Septic Tank Pumping & Cleaning in Muskoka
When your septic tank fills, the solids need to come out before they reach your drain field. We provide full septic tank pumping and cleaning for homes, cottages, and commercial properties across Muskoka and Haliburton, with a clear price up front and approved waste disposal every time.
What is included in a septic pump-out?
A complete pump-out removes all the liquid and solid waste from your septic tank and includes a quick health check of the tank. We do not just skim the surface. We pump the tank down and confirm it is draining properly before we leave.
Every job includes:
- Locating the tank and accessing the lids.
- Pumping out the full contents, liquids and settled solids.
- Inspecting the baffles and tank walls for cracks, blockages, or wear.
- Checking inlet and outlet flow so we catch drain-field warning signs early.
- Hauling waste to an approved disposal site, with documentation on request.
Our septic pumping process
1. Locate
We find your tank and lids. If they are buried, we can locate and uncover them.
2. Uncover
We expose the access lids cleanly and protect the surrounding area.
3. Pump
We pump out the entire tank, breaking up and removing settled solids and floating scum.
4. Inspect the baffles
We check the inlet and outlet baffles, tank walls, and flow so any developing issue is flagged before it fails.
5. Haul to an approved site
Waste is transported and disposed of at an approved receiving site, in line with Ontario regulations.
Residential, cottage, and commercial pumping
Residential homes. Year-round households should pump every 3 to 5 years. We handle standard tanks of 3,000 to 8,000 litres and larger.
Cottages and seasonal properties. Part-year use changes the schedule. We offer seasonal opening and closing pump-outs and before-freeze-up service. See cottage septic care →
Commercial properties. Restaurants, resorts, marinas, and rentals carry heavier loads and often need more frequent service. Ask about a maintenance schedule.
Emergency septic service
If your toilets are backing up or sewage is pooling, that is an emergency and we offer 24/7 response. A backed-up tank can flood your home or fail your drain field within hours. Call our emergency line and we will get to you as fast as conditions allow.
Can you locate and dig up buried tank lids?
Yes. If your lids are buried we can locate and uncover them. We also recommend installing risers so future pump-outs are faster and cheaper, because the lids stay at ground level and never need digging again.
How much does pumping cost?
Most Muskoka homeowners pay $300 to $650 for a routine pump-out, depending on tank size and access. See full pricing by tank size →
